Sparkly Champagne Anniversary - MFT

Hi friends!

Today I'm sharing a card I made for my parents who recently celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary!
This card kind of evolved as I went as I wasn't 100% sure how it was going to come together. All I knew was that I was going to try and use the champagne glass die with glitter card stock. I also had pictured in my mind that I would use the striped background stamp, except I thought I wanted grey stripes.

Ok, onto the card...

First, I stamped a piece of smooth white card stock with light grey ink using the 'watercolor stripes' background stamp from MFT. I put that aside and die-cut the champagne glasses from a white glitter card for the glass and a gold glitter card for the champagne, using the 'layered champagne glass' die from MFT. Once I adhered the champagne to the glass, I played around with the layout and how best to place them on the card. It was here that I decided I didn't like the grey for the background and then decided to stamp another background using 'natural' hybrid ink. Now I have a grey panel set aside for another day :)
I die-cut this striped panel using the A2 stitched rectangle from Blueprints 25 (retired) to add a little detail around the edge.

To soften this background and to add a little something special, I decided to add a layer of vellum. Using the large scalloped rectangle from 'blueprints 27', I die-cut the vellum piece.

Next, I decided to go with a bold black sentiment strip. I heat embossed the sentiment from 'essential sentiments' onto black card stock and cut it using the banner die which is also in the 'blueprints 27' set. This sentiment stamp set is one I am always reaching for. It's so versatile with it's simple font and covers lots of occasions. I also have the follow up set called 'more essential sentiments', which is just as useful.

I also heat embossed a sentiment inside the card, using gold embossing powder. When I first started this card, I thought I would put '45' on the front seeing as it's a milestone anniversary. After playing around with the pieces, I thought it would be too much. So I decided to stamp a small 45 on the inside, along with congratulations. The 45 was stamped using the 'mini well-connected alphabet & numbers' stamp and the congratulations is also from the 'essential sentiments' stamp set.

Now, time to put it all together! First, I glued the striped panel to a card base. Next I adhered the glasses to the vellum, then added adhesive to the back of the vellum, where the glasses were, so that the glue wouldn't show through. I then adhered the vellum piece (with glasses already attached) to the striped panel.

To adhere the sentiment strip, I used foam tape but left a space in the middle where the glasses sit.
Originally I thought I would use a few sequins but once I was at this point, I decided that some stars in the matching gold glitter paper might look nice. I die-cut some using the stars in the 'stitched strip' die. I scattered them on before adhering to make sure I was happy with the look of them and I thought they finished it off nicely. Once they were glued in place, the card was finished!

I hope you enjoyed my card for today, thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!
