Mama Elephant Fly With Me

Hello friends!

Today's card is one that I made for a sweet little girl who turned 7.
I recently bought this gorgeous 'Fly With Me' stamp set from Mama Elephant and I was busting to use it! I thought it would be perfect for this occasion.

First I started by stamping these gorgeous images and colouring them in with Copic markers. I then set them aside while I made the rest of the card.

To create the cloud background, I used the 'cloud stencil' from MFT and sponged on Tumbled Glass distress ink. I then die-cut this piece into an A2 card size using the largest rectangle from the Large Stitched Rectangles from Lawn Fawn. I like to add the stitched detail around the edge, I feel like it finishes it off nicely.

Next I die-cut some clouds for the bottom of the card. I used the 'Puffy Cloud Borders' from Lawn Fawn and cut a mixture of smooth white card and vellum. I played around with these to see where I wanted them positioned and then I cut them with the same stitched rectangle to give it continuity around the edge of the card.

Before I started adhering, I stamped the sentiment from the 'Scripty Bday' stamp set from Mama Elephant. I don't own a black embossing powder so I used my MISTI and first I stamped it in black, then stamped again in Versamark ink, sprinkled on clear embossing powder and heat set it. I love the added gloss it gives to the sentiment from doing it this way!

Now it's time to assemble the card! I attached the cloud panel onto the card base, then attached the clouds to the bottom. I then adhered the little cuties. I felt like something was missing, I was thinking of adding some sequins but then I thought wouldn't it look cute if they had hearts coming out of their trunks? I decided to give it a go and see how it looked. If all else failed I'd stick with the sequins!

I wanted it to colour coordinate, so I coloured some card in the same pink marker I'd used for the pink balloon. I then die-cut this using the 'Confetti Creative Cuts' from Mama Elephant. I played around with the hearts and decided to go ahead with the idea and also added another one in the bottom right on the cloud to balance it out. For the final touch, I added sparkle and shimmer with the 'Tonic Aqua Shimmer Pen' to the balloons and the pink hearts.

This completes my card for today, I hope you enjoyed this post. Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful day!
