Hello friends!
To start off, I heat embossed the beautiful floral image from Concord & 9th's You Are Here stamp set.
I then watercolored the image using Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolours. I decided to add some splatters with the same paint and then added some using gold acrylic paint.
While I waited for that to dry, I die cut the word lovely (from the Wonderful Words dies) 5 times.
For the top layer, I wanted it to be gold. I coated it in Versamark clear ink and then heat embossed it with gold embossing powder. All 5 layers were glued together to give the word some dimension.
For the rest of the sentiment, I used a stamp set that seems to have been discontinued now. It's from Concord & 9th and is called Wonderful Women. It co-ordinates with the Wonderful Words dies.
Unfortunately I don't have black embossing powder, but luckily I do have a MISTI! I stamped the words with black ink and then leaving it all positioned in the MISTI, I stamped it again with versamark clear ink and embossed with clear embossing powder. This enabled me to achieve the black font with the heat embossed finish!
The panel was trimmed down slightly and attached to a black piece of cardstock to create the thin black edge.

This is so very pretty, the watercoloring is perfection. Thanks for joining us at Where Creativity Meets C9.
ReplyDeleteYour card is gorgeous! I use that trick with MISTI and clear embossing, too. :) And I'm completely jealous that you have the Wonderful Women stamp set. It was retired before I knew about it. Thanks so much for joining our Florals Challenge at Where Creativity Meets C9!
