MFT Camp Create Sensational Sliders - Wiggling Hula

Hello friends!

Today I'm sharing my second card that I made to play along with MFT's Camp Create! This is for the 'Sensational Sliders' category. The challenge was to create something with movement. I don't have the surf and turf dies so rather than make a slider, I decided to make a wacky wobbler instead!

It was my dad's birthday yesterday and I had already decided to make him a card using the Polynesian Paradise set. We have holidayed in Hawaii together and he often mentions how much he enjoyed it there so I thought he might like a card with a bit of a Hawaiian vibe! Then it occurred to me, why not make the hula girl actually 'hula'?!

I looked on youtube to find out how to make a wobbler mechanism to achieve it. All I needed was some wire and a circle punch! Thank you CraftyPaws! If you are interested in watching the tutorial, click here.

I stamped the images and coloured them with Copics. The hula girl and flowers were from Polynesian Paradise and the palm tree was from Penguins in Paradise.

I created my background piece using Copic markers also. I attached that to the card and then die-cut the square scalloped frame from kraft paper twice to make it a little thicker. I attached the palm tree with some foam tape for dimension. I adhered the wobbler mechanism to the hula girl and attached her to the card. Once the glue was dry I tried to wobble her and I am so excited to say, it worked!! I then added the flowers to the corners.
(We call these Frangipanis but in Hawaii they are called Plumerias!)

I heat embossed the sentiment by using the 'happy birthday' from the 'Ewe Are the Best' set and the 'sunshine' from the 'Polynesian Paradise' set.

My Dad loved the card :)

Thanks for stopping by, have a great day!
